Everybody knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but when you’re in a hurry to get to the office it’s easy to skip out on it. Maybe you’re not a fan of the generic breakfast foods or you’ve convinced yourself you don’t have enough time for it. Making time for delicious and easy to prepare food doesn’t have to be a chore. Below are some of our favorite foods to eat before we start our workday at ParadigmNEXT.

Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

Craving something sweet and healthy? Go for a bowl of yogurt and top it with your favorite fruit. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and will keep you full until lunch. Don’t be afraid to add some more toppings to your parfait like seeds and granola.

Avocado Toast with Egg

A breakfast staple, eggs are always a good choice if you’re not sure what to eat in the morning. Spice it up with some avocado and you’re set. Lightly toast your choice of bread, top it with avocado, salt and pepper, and a sunny side egg for protein.

Smoothies, though a little more time consuming to prepare, are a great on-the-go breakfast that come in dozens of varieties to satisfy your appetite. Looking for something fruity? Mix your favorite berries with a banana, some ice, and fruit juice and you’ve got yourself a filling breakfast. Sneak in some greens like spinach or kale. It will boost the nutrients in your smoothie and you won’t even taste it.

A healthier take on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, peanut butter and banana make the perfect (and healthy) pair! Top some whole grain toast with a layer of organic peanut butter and banana slices for a delicious and filling breakfast.

We all have those mornings when nothing seems to go right and making breakfast at home just isn’t going to happen. When those mornings come along, don’t abandon breakfast entirely. Drop into a Starbucks (there’s practically one on every corner) and order a warm drink and breakfast sandwich or croissant. While this isn’t the healthiest breakfast, you’ll be happy when you’re swamped at work and won’t make it to lunch until later.
