During these phases, the most common questions we get are about team building and motivation. While startups can be exciting and constantly changing environments, they can also be quite frightening, because no one knows what the future holds.

1. Create and foster a great company culture. Focus on positivity and appreciate everyone’s creative style and individuality. You’ve hired your team members because you knew they could contribute to your bottom line. Help them foster and grow professionally and creatively!
2. Establish regular team meetings and one-to-ones. The key to success in any work environment is communication. Make sure you are on the same page with everyone on your team. Furthermore, it tells team members that you care about their projects and their overall development.
3. Regular lunches are go a long way! You’d be surprised at how scheduling a regular team lunch, whether to just regroup on a Friday or celebrate someone’s birthday, can keep people motivated. Leaving the office to spend time with your team in a setting other than the workspace is very refreshing.
4. Be repetitive with your company’s goals. When it comes to your overall vision, you want to keep everyone on the same page, all the time. Repeating your vision over and over again assures that the message is always being delivered not only to the people that need to hear it (your team) but again from your team to your potential customers.
5. Keep everyone in the loop. There’s nothing worse than surprises within the company, like a new hire randomly showing up, or a new client out of the blue. You want to keep your team updated so that they feel trusted and know that you are being honest and upfront with them at all times.
