ParadigmNEXT: Best Spots for the Busy Chicagoan

Often in our blogs, we discuss the best practices associated with what we do: digital marketing. We provide an arsenal of tips and tricks related to this ever-changing and constantly evolving industry, and all within a city with some of the most renowned tech and marketing pioneers in the business. However, no matter what industry you work in, there are times when everyone gets overwhelmed with work. Finding that place where you can retreat, take a breath, reflect, and be by yourself seem few and far between. We’ve rounded up the hidden gems that a busy Chicagoan should visit when they need to escape.

Some of these places may be good to visit after a hectic day of work, for a coffee break or just a weekend to catch up or get even more work done. In Huffpost Chicago, we found a great article that listed 18 Places In Chicago To Go When You Need To Recharge & Feel Inspired. The team at ParadigmNEXT researched them ourselves, and provided the following as our favorites, along with a few others.

Museum of Contemporary Art

Located right in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast, The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) can spark creativity, and more importantly, clear your mind from the stress that can sometimes consume your work days. Perusing at works by Andy Warhol, and Alexander Calder, is not just aesthetically captivating, but can instantly clear your head.

Visiting The Museum of Contemporary Art is pretty reasonable in terms of cost, and they have an assortment of exhibitions year-round. To find out more information, check out their website. To get to the MCA, all you have to do is jump on the Red Line, and get off at Chicago. From there, it is a five minute walk.

Caldwell Lily Pool

With the warmer-than-average December we have experienced so far in Chicago, heading over to the Caldwell Lily Pool is definitely a great destination. Located in Lincoln Park, this is a great spot to see the fall foliage, and relax next to the serene pond. It is very easy to get to Caldwell Lily Pool, as there are busses and trains which run close by. The easiest routes would be the #76 bus or #156 bus. Also, if you happen to stop by the Caldwell Lily Pool on a nice day, it may be fun to walk around and go to the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The 9th Floor of the Fine Arts Building

One of the best views in the city of Buckingham Fountain and Lake Michigan is The 9th Floor of the Fine Arts Building. As one of the oldest artist colonies, The Fine Arts Building also is full of interesting art collections and history. Located in the Loop, if you were to board the Brown Line, and take it to Harold Washington Library-State/Van Buren, then you’re only a two minute walk from relaxation!

We hope that you check out some of these places. Feel free to share some of your hidden gems throughout the city. Where do you go to take a break from your busy life in Chicago?
