Not only does this benefit the contractor in finding work, but it provides employers with the ability to find the right talent at the right time.

2. Trending: Shifting Generational Preferences

The newest generation to enter the workforce values flexibility and autonomy. Flexible schedules and remote work is found to be more important that increases in salary overtime. With this knowledge, Facebook and Google offer programs that are designed to attract those who prefer a contractor lifestyle, working when they want to work. The “9 to 5” workday is becoming a thing of the past.

3. Trending: Protection for Contractors

From health insurance programs like the Affordable Care Act to financial and tax tools like QuickBooks Self-Employed, contractors are increasingly supported. With insurance, community and financial support and coverage, contractors are increasingly gaining the security and legal protections that employees have.
